The ways in which you were safe yesterday are no longer the ways you’ll be safe today. By hiding armor within something that people are already used to carrying everywhere, we have turned the backpack into a personal reactionary tool to a life-threatening problem. Protection that goes wherever you go, ready for whatever comes your way. The most important thing you’ll ever put in your Leatherback Gear backpack today...is you.
This is a great concept and Im glad my kids have them now. However, the plate pocket is sewn too low. Plates should be carrier so the top of the plates are even with the notch at the top of the breast plate where the collar bone meets the throat. When you hike the shoulder straps as high as they go and do the same for the internal straps the plates still fall well below this. I like the product. I respect the company. I appreciate how quick they shipped. I will be sewing the pocket bottom higher up so the plates sit where theyre supposed to.
They are very well designed, utilitarian and fairly quick to deeply depending on how much stuff you have in the pack pockets. We use them daily replacing bags & purses. The mid-vitals covered are smaller than typical armor. Took off one star because of lacking side protection. Would be nice if it was built in to fold out or zip in to reduce exposed meat from various angles. Much better chance of survival with these packs. Thanks.
Excellent. I would suggest a buy back/discount after a 5year warranty
We bought the Sport One for our eleven-year old and the Tactical One for our fifteen-year old. They are practical, useful backpacks that blend into the environment nicely. The inserts are lightweight & flexible so there’s no restriction on use of space. There are numerous independent tests of these products that you can view on YouTube, and you’ll find the protection they provide is impressive. If you’re shopping seriously, I highly recommend Leatherback.
I am so glad I bought the Sport One. It is not as heavy as I thought it would be, it carries a lot of my stuff and is replacing my purse. It isn’t bulky either and it is made with quality material. I bought one for me and both of my teen daughters and they fit great! Living in these times, who can put a price on a potential life saving device that also has a purpose? Totally worth it and my mind is much more at ease sending my kids to school knowing they have some protection if God forbid, an active shooter situation ensued. My only concern is for the children who do not have one of these. I think every child should own one as much as I wish there were no need. God bless the Blue!!!
I like that level iv plates from and back. Would love a future back pack generation to have side protection and faster deployment instead of unzipping the whole thing around. Overall, I would feel safe wearing this .
